On February 26, 2022, DIMS-MBA conducted an industrial visit to Dewan Sugars Ltd., Moradabad, with the goal of providing a hands-on learning environment. Sugar is a significant agro-based sector that affects the rural lifestyles of over 50 million sugarcane growers and approximately 5 lakh workers engaged directly in sugar mills. India is the world's second largest producer. This industry is involved in a variety of ancillary activities, including procurement, transportation, trade servicing of machinery, and delivery of agricultural inputs. As a result, MBA students gain valuable management skills during this visit, such as adhering to stringent time schedules, procuring raw materials, understanding the economics of sugarcane, and managing personnel around the clock.
